Paths Unguided
Nataka
Name: Nataka Sundust
Age: 16
Element: Spirit
Description: Long chocolate brown hair, blue/green eyes, markings on face
(depending on story- they appear throughout most of Paths Unguided until closer
to the end, but only occasionally appear in Beyond Reality)
Background - Paths Unguided: Nataka first appears in a cavern acting as a
treasure hunter. She hears about a mysterious treasure from some of the faeries
that live around the area, and begins seeking a group to help her track down the
legendary Gaian Crystal. Her history isn't revealed until much later.
Background: - Beyond Reality: Much like the original Paths Unguided, Nataka
simply appears in the city one day without much of a given reason. For some
unknown purpose she seems to be tracking down the others, and pushes them to
become friends. It is later hinted that she may retain some memory of the original
Paths Unguided, which was her reason for trying to reunite with her old comrades
from her former life.
Personality: She has a happy-go-lucky exterior and tries to drag her friends into
endless adventures. Nataka is determined to see the good in people, but continues
to expect most people to be evil. Whether she expects this because she actually
believes it, or is just hoping for more adventure is unknown.

Zoa-ann
Name: Zoa-ann (also called Zoa, Zo, and Zoan)
Age: 12
Element: Water
Description: Long blue hair, wide blue eyes, scars on back - normally hidden by

the druid elder who ran the orphanage and learned to appreciate the life of all
creatures.
Background - Beyond Reality: Zoa was in an orphanage as a young child- but was
adopted fairly early in her life so her memories there are very brief. She cares
about her family and loves animals, but doesn't spend much time around her house.
Zoa attends a public Jr. high school, where she is teased by her classmates and has
trouble making friends.
Personality: Zoa is typically quiet, preferring to stay out of trouble and away from
attention. She looks up to the others in her group because she sees them as strong
individuals and herself as a weaker burden. Zoa can become depressed and
moody, but tries to hide this side of her from the others, not wanting to bother her
friends.

Rina
Name: Rina
Age: 18
Element: Air
Description: Shoulder length violet hair, green eyes, wings resembling a dragonfly
(in Paths Unguided)
Background - Paths Unguided: Rina was raised in a forest, surrounded by nature.
Her parents were captured by city guards when she was just old enough to take of
herself, and grew up in solitude. Rina left her forest home on occasion to go into
the nearest villages, where she was able to learn a lot about society. Despite being
surrounded by nature, she never became particularly fond of it.
Background - Beyond Reality: Rina's parents attempted to be loving to their
child- but she was always distant, although not cruel, and strong family bonds were
never formed. She exceeded everybody's expectations in academics, excelling
past the other children her age until she was finally accepted into a young genius
program. When she reached the age of fifteen her parents sent her to live in the
city by herself and attend a state-of-the-art, private academy like she wanted.
Personality: Rina is extremely intelligent and excels at strategical thinking which she
prefers over blunt recklessness. Despite never having any social bonds as a child,
she gained deep insight in human nature. She dislikes the noise of the city,
preferring to be alone in quiet solitude, but can adjust to most forms of life.

Leahna
Name: Leahna Otodushi (also called Lea, Lee, Leahn)
Age: 17
Element: Earth
Description: Shoulder length blond hair, deep blue eyes, carries a noble air
about her
Background - Paths Unguided: Leahna was born into nobility, her family owning
much of the town at the crystal mines that were in her part of the country. She was
the sole heir to everything, being the only child her parents had, and was pampered
during her youth. While she had never found her life dissatisfying before meeting
the others, once they came into her life she felt herself longing for something more.
Lea ran away from home to go on adventures, and as soon as she was gone her
family promptly disowned her.
Background: Beyond Reality: Lea's parents are rich jewel dealers, who are often
away from home on business. She respects them, but feels no love toward them,
spending most of her time by herself in her manor. She attends a private girls-only
academy for the wealthy. After meeting with Nataka she began sneaking out of the
house to hang out with her new friends.
Personality: Due to her wealthy upbringing, Leahna can be stingy and prideful.
She desperately tries to protect her personal honer and can be dismissive of
people around her, if unintentionally. She does have a great sense of duty
however, and feels it is her responsibility to take care of people and settle
disputes that may arise.

Miyu
Name: Miyu Cratsu
Age: 17
Element: Fire
Description: Short black hair, red eyes with slitted pupils,
Background - Paths Unguided: Miyu was sold to a temple which collected Fire
Maidens, and her fire powers were used by the clerics of the temple for special
services. She grew up hating the people around her, and intentionally scared off
many of the temple's clients with her unique abilities. When the option of leaving
with the others arose, she grabbed it, often thinking she would drop out of the
group when she found something better to do.
Background: Beyond Reality: Miyu was abandoned by her parents as a young age
for being a "freak" and was put into a run-down orphanage. Miyu is the only
character in Beyond Reality to have full use of her powers from the beginning of
the story, and often uses her fire techniques to scare off any prospective friends
or enemies. When Nataka fails to respond to Miyu's unusual powers, she begins
tagging along with the others- wondering if the lack of response was a sign of
somebody else with special abilities.
Personality: Miyu is normally excessively cruel and ignores most strangers around
her. She doesn't consider any of her friends to be "friends", instead labeling them
as pawns for her use. She despises notions like "love" and "happiness", knowing
full well that the ideas exist in many lives, but refusing to let them become a part of
hers, believing they are weaknesses.
